1.            How technology effects communication positively and negatively?

Answer: This day, the development of technology is growing rapidly especially in communication. Communication technology is not a new thing anymore but already known and used by the society. As a growing technology, there are always the advantages as well as disadvantages. Some were aware, and some were probably not realized, because it has become part of everyday life. The following is the positive effects and also the negative effects of communication technology that can be felt in everyday life.

The first positive effect, is the presence of social media. Social media is a positive effect of the development of communication technology. It can not be denied that social media now is a trend in the wider community. One of the benefits of social media itself is to connect someone with new people, expand relationships, and facilitate communication with other individual who are far away.

The next positive effect is to accelerate and facilitate the access to information, for example in education where the subject matter and all things related to education will become easier to access and gained. Beside that with the development of communication technology today, it becomes a "fertile ground" in the business of online shop. Currently, there are many new jobs generated due to the development of information technology and also communication, where people who had no job can finally have a job by online shop and using online communication media in promoting their business. 

Another positive impact of communication technology is in terms of entertainment. Today's technology supports a vast entertainment medium for everyone. Examples of entertainment media such as games, music, and also youtube, many people who can release their stress through various entertainment offered by the development of this technology. Moreover, with the current communication technology it is possible to promote national culture abroad so that people will be interested and visit Indonesia.

Beside the positive effects, there are certainly the negative effects behind the development of communication technology. Most of the effects are due to misuse of communication technology, or due to lack of user understanding of how to use technology well. In social media the negative effects such as, it limited our social interaction face to face. Because in social media, the individual only focused on the things in cyberspace and ignore the real things around them. The People feel comfort and facilitate with the advanced technology which make them feel no longer need other people in their activities.

            Then in  online shop, there are online fraud committed by online seller for example shipping the wrong item or not in accordance with the order and use someone credit card by manipulate his/her PIN to be used for personal purposes (carding). While in the entertainment world, the technological developments provide easy access to indecent content, many people deliberately create pages that contain pornography & violence, and it's can damage the behavior of kids and teenagers. The final impact of communication technology is the inclusion of a destructive foreign culture. Not all Western cultures are good and suitable to be applied in Indonesia. Negative cultures that start shifting native cultures, such as children are no longer respectful to parents, free sex, and the others.

Those are some of the positive and negative effects of technology as a medium of communication. The point is this all depends on how we use them.

2.            Why listening is such a big challege for most people? Explain by giving answer.

Answer: Listening is very important in social life. But most people find it difficult to be a good listener. Being a good listener is not as easy as imagined. This may be caused by several factors. Such as the lack of understanding of the individual with the topic of the conversation that he or she has heard, thus leaving him/her unfocused and ignoring what the speaker is saying. The individual also has no interest and motivation for the topic he/she heard, because most people just listen to the things they want and ignore the information they should have heard. 

Some individual also have a difficult habit of concentrating where their attention is easily distracted by various things around them such as noise and others. The wrong time can also be a factor that affects the difficulty of an individual to be a good listener for example when the individual  is in a bad mood, sleepy, fatigue and so on. Also while listening to someone's talk, not infrequently an individual even drowning in his own mind and imagining because being bored and tired with his/her interlocutor.

Sometimes an individual is also impatient with his/her interlocutor and immediately judge them even when he/she has not heard the whole story. And the last is the difficulty of an individual to adapt to one's speech. Such as too fast, too slow, or unclear which lead to a person difficulty in receiving  or hearing the information.
